An Optimized PID Control Strategy For Active Suspensions Applied To A Half Car Model Mohammed H. AbuShaban; Mahir B. Sabra; Iyad M. Abuhadrous Electrical Engineering Department, Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine. Abstract— In this paper, we propose a new control strategy for the active control of a  hydraulically controlled half-car active suspension system. Our study proposes a  special construction of the suspension system where the hydraulic actuator is to be  placed in series with the conventional passive one to form a special case of low-  frequency active suspension. The full dynamics of the electro-hydraulic servo-valve  and hydraulic actuator were employed. Response of proposed control strategy has  been tested for different road profiles and riding conditions including car chassis  rolling effect when cornering and pitch movements when braking/ acceleration.  Results have shown superior performance of our modified controller over passive  suspensions and many other controllers of previous studies. Simulations show that our  proposed controller provide better passenger comfort as it lowers maximum body  acceleration by 94.3% and with reduction in body travel by 98.8% of that of passive  one. Also, our proposed control strategy has shown better road handling and car  stability over a whole range of road and inertial disturbances.   Keywords- Half-car active suspension; Electro-hydraulic servo actuator; PID control ;  Optimization. Abstract— ISocial media has become something that is important to enhance social  networking and sharing of information through the website. Social media have not  only changed social networking, they provide a valuable tool for social organization,  activism, political, healthcare and even academic relations in the university. The  researchers conducted present study with objectives to a). examine the academic use  of social media by universities, b). measure the popularity and visibility of social  media owned by universities. This study was delimited to the universities in Indonesia. The population of the study consisted both on public and private universities. The  sample size comprised totally of 264 universities that their ranks included both in  Webometrics and 4ICU in July 2012 edition. The social media which was examined  included Facebook, Twitter, Flicker, LinkedIn, Youtube, Wikipeda, Blogs, social  network community owned by the university and Open Course Ware. This study used  an approach for data collection and measurement: by using Alexa and Majestic SEO.  Data analysis using the Pearson Chi-square for social media ownership that using data  ordinal and independent t test for examining effects of social media on website  popularity. The study revealed that majority of the social media users used Facebook,  then followed by Twitter. There are also most significant differences for result of  popularity by Alexa Rank and visibility by Majestic SEO in universities whether used  social media or no. The objective of this research is developing the  Diabetes Risk Application (which is) implemented on Android Smartphone. The  research methods are data collection, system requirements analysis, application  design, implementation and testing. This application was built in Java programming  language that uses Android SDK. Testing application conducted with the aim to show  that this application based on Android has successfully developed. Users can use this  application to know the level of diabetes risk themselves. Many companies utilized the Internet to develop marketing strategies,  amongst which was a website that represent the company image. To attract as many  visitors as possible, the website required optimization of its backlink/s and pagerank.  How good the backlinks and how high the pagerank can be tested using a webcrawler.  By using this tool, the company can improve its marketing strategy worldwide. This  study  gives result a backlink and pagerank information based on experiments done on  the tool crawler. So that the company knows its position in web search site.
